The day after boxing day....
you wake up with the christmas feeling exiting your body (in more ways than one)
i'v found every aspect of life can be replaced by food metaphors.
christmas eve is the starter, your first taste of whats to come and you know that next is what you've waited for
christmas day ! the main course, pulled out all the stops. big bites of festive platonic love and gulps of family and
boxing day the desert, so sweet as you finally get to play with your presents after waiting patiently at the table
December 27th the bill, the delights of the 3 courses catch-up on you. you ate to much you drank to much. your laziness and festive motto of 'go on it's christmas' backfire.
the dark nights which emphasise the lights on the trees no longer have the same effect.
after being at uni the holidays at home, really do feel like luxury holidays.
i am fed and catered for by my mum, clothes washed, heating and entertainment.
christmas day was traditional with a twist, waking up to scrambled eggs and smoked salmon was a delight. we like always arrived at my dads house at midday. just after they have come back from church. not that we are against church, we just prefered to have a lie in.
as tradition went the elders would sit on chairs whilst my brothers and i, would check name tags of presents and place them in piles for each person, once this was done we opened them.
my favorite presents received were some east london vitage clothes from my brother.
a subscription to national geographic, an american apparel voucher and homemade fudge from totnes in devon.
my taste buds were spolied with turkey and all the trimmings, a homemade christmas pudding and mince pies. between main and desert came the cheese board with a whole selection, i'm not the biggest fan of cheese so i stuck to bree.
my dad gave me a bottle of cockburns port which i have grown fond of, so sweet and 20% will make your head lighter after a few glasses. from gemmas parents i received a bottle of barcardi which i intend to make mojitios for new years eve out of. and my dad gave me a bottle of limoncello from rome.
the extravagence did not end with the food and drink as after dinner, a roulette table had been set up with chips as well. and for an hour the 12 of us engaged in the game of chance and luck.
i am definenatly going to purchase a set, as its so simple to play.
my work load has not decrease rather been pushed aside. 4 essays is not fair at christmas time and this week does not seem to want me to do work either.
new years eve on thursday, and wednesdya me chris and marcus and hopefully others shall explore the new hemel hempstead in door ski slope and tuesday i'm going to the sales in wycombe and seeing avatar again which was epic !.
if only the amount i wrote on this could be converted into text needed for my essays, then i would be set.
having a blog is definatily an ideal way to record thoughts and ideas. and just waste half an hour of free time
it feels pleasing to know someone read it, and even better when they decide to start their own because of it.
This week i shall think of a new years resolution, i believe resolutions show be promotion as in you want to start something ratehr than preventional such as i want to stop something. a new experience will be more interesting than stopping a previous one even if it is bad for your health.
